if some of you remember, i purchased a sony headunit over there and got it installed by their tech. to make a long story short i get white noise (snow) when the volume is low but it sounds strong once the volume kicks up. interestingly enough this only happens when one of the equalizer setting is chosen. if the eq is off, there's no noise at all. according to the circuit city tech, this is normal with an aftermarket amplifier. he said that the amplifier juices up certain eq signals that produces this snow at low volume? he says its completely normal and he sees it all the time on stereos with amplifiers. is this right? he made it sound pretty convincing but i dunno much about stereos... thanks for all those who posted in tech a few days back. i posted this in general to follow up with my situation... and since its not an overly technical issue. just wanna see if i should bring it back and make them redo the install, or just live with it since it's 'normal'. thanks.
